ONLINE RESEARCH METHODS

The last 5 years have seen behavioural science moving away from the labs and into the participants' own homes. Although this transition has been accelerated with the global pandemic, it's likely that many businesses and researchers will continue to use online testing in the future. Why?

  1. Faster results: Data collection is finished in hours rather than months

  2. Larger samples: Parallel acquisition means that it takes just as long to collect data from 50 participants as 500. Online research typically has larger sample sizes making the findings more robust

  3. Realistic samples: Behavioural science is no longer confined to university students or the WEIRD (Western, Educated, Industrialised, Rich, and Democratic) population. Online research leads to more diverse and realistic samples.

You can visit my Media page to see some of the content I created whilst working as Client Liaison for Gorilla Experiment Builder.  This includes a number of tutorials covering various behavioural science topics.
